AI Engineer 6

Team: AI Foundation & Tooling, Ads Platform

Department
Data & Insights
Location
USA — Remote
Work type
Full-time · Remote
Posting date
September 14, 2026

Requisition ID AJRT30201

Overview

We launched a new ad-supported tier in November 2022 to offer our members more choice in how they consume their content. Our new tier allows us to attract new members at a lower price point, while also creating a compelling path for advertisers to reach audiences that are deeply engaged.

Our Team

The Ads Platform Engineering teams build advertising systems and integrations that powers the delivery of ads using our world class content delivery ecosystem. We use a number of the organization investments and innovations to power our ads - unique mix of client and server side ad insertions, state of the art content delivery system, ad encoding recipes, content understanding and metadata etc. We deliver ads in a manner that’s thoughtful of our member’s viewing experience and drive great outcomes for advertisers. We also ensure that advertiser brand safety is ensured during serving, members only see the most appropriate ads for them.

About the Role

We're looking for a Staff AI Engineer to join us as the first dedicated AI engineer. Your core mission is to build the AI infrastructure and agentic workflows that transform how our team develops and operates software.

This is a greenfield opportunity. You won't be maintaining existing AI systems — you'll be designing and building them from scratch. Our team has active AI champions and early tooling already in production, but we need someone with deep hands-on experience to architect the foundational layer and accelerate our path to AI-native engineering. Our code footprint is reasonable today but expanding at an extraordinary pace; a core part of this role is striking the right balance between AI-driven speed and quality — shipping faster without accumulating slop, regressions, or accountability gaps.

This role focuses on applied AI — building production systems with existing models and tools, not training LLMs. You'll leverage large language models, agentic frameworks, and retrieval-augmented generation to solve real infrastructure and product problems, with a direct impact on how quickly and confidently the team can deliver in a competitive market.

Apply / share your resume

Responsibilities

  • AI Infrastructure & Agentic Workflows
  • Architect and build a centralized context layer that gives AI agents grounded, team-specific knowledge
  • Design and implement agentic workflows for the full development lifecycle: AI-assisted code generation, automated test creation, PR pre-review, and deployment validation
  • Build AI-powered operational workflows — automated incident triage, log and metric correlation, root cause analysis, and guided resolution
  • Develop multi-agent orchestration where parallel agents handle implementation, testing, and documentation as coordinated workflows
  • Set up standardized AI development environments so every engineer can work in an AI-first workflow from day one
  • Drive team-wide AI adoption through hands-on enablement — pairing sessions, architecture reviews, workflow demonstrations, and continuous feedback loops

Qualifications / What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of significant focus on applied AI systems
  • Proven experience building and deploying agentic AI systems in production — agent architectures, tool integration, orchestration, and evaluation frameworks
  • Hands-on experience setting up AI infrastructure for end-to-end software development workflows (AI coding assistants, context engineering, automated testing)
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals — you build production-grade systems, not just prototypes
  • Deep experience with retrieval-augmented generation — document indexing, embedding strategies, retrieval pipelines, and grounding techniques
  • Proficiency in Python and/or JVM languages
  • Demonstrated ability to drive technical adoption across a team — you can demonstrate value, build trust through pairing and architecture reviews, and bring engineers along on new workflows
  • Nice to haves:
  • Prior experience as the first or early AI engineer on a team — standing up AI capabilities where none previously existed, with the ownership and initiative of an early-stage environment
  • Familiarity with LLM application patterns: context engineering, tool use / function calling, structured outputs, multi-agent coordination, and evaluation / hill-climbing methodologies
  • Experience integrating AI into CI/CD pipelines (automated PR review, test generation, deployment validation)
  • Background in building operational tooling — incident response automation, log analysis, diagnostic workflows

Inclusion

Inclusion is a shared value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate business impact and technical constraints tailored to the audience
  • As comfortable speaking technically as non-technically and able to bridge between the two
  • Detail-oriented, can identify what's missing in planning and execution of software development, testing, and launch
  • Exemplify the organizational culture by understanding, advocating, and demonstrating its values

The Player Platform Solutions team owns the operational excellence, reliability, and quality of the player across Web and TV. We build and maintain test frameworks and automation, drive quality assessment and performance improvements, enhance developer productivity workflows, and own infrastructure tooling, monitoring, and release management for the player. We partner with internal and external teams on platform-specific and foundational playback needs — device security, client–server communication, performance optimization — and work closely with Core Playback and Stream Algorithms to ensure a consistent, high-quality playback experience for members worldwide.

We're the team that makes sure playback just works on living-room devices and browsers at global scale — and we're evolving how we test, debug, and ship the player using the latest tools, including AI, as a core capability rather than a side experiment to make the Player safe and fast to change on every TV and Web platform.

This team consists of engineers from diverse backgrounds, bringing expertise across multiple disciplines, including content protection, client-server communication, networking protocols, continuous integration, test automation, experimentation, and software engineering. Our success is driven by self-motivated, collaborative, and curious engineers who prioritize the team's goals.

We are seeking a software engineer with strong experience in test development, automation, and CI/CD pipelines to join our team. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and implementing automated tests and tooling that ensure high-quality streaming experiences on TV and Web devices. You will contribute to improving our build, integration, and release workflows so features and fixes ship quickly and reliably. You'll partner with engineers across the team to scope and deliver projects end to end, and grow your depth in playback quality and developer productivity.

  • You communicate clearly and work effectively with engineers on adjacent teams.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing GenAI in your day-to-day development workflow, including test automation and CI/CD/release processes.

Qualifications / What We’re Looking For

  • Solid software engineering experience (roughly 3+ years, or equivalent depth) with a focus on test development
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Spinnaker, or GitHub Actions) and comfort debugging and extending build and release pipelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to give thoughtful code reviews and share what you learn with the team.
  • Exposure to A/B testing or experimentation workflows.
  • Nice to have: Experience in streaming media playback, architecture, and industry protocols relevant to video streaming.

Overview

Our Team

The Ads Platform team builds the advertising systems and integrations that powers the delivery of ads using our world class content delivery ecosystem. We deliver ads in a manner that’s thoughtful of our member experience and drive great outcomes for advertisers. We also ensure that advertiser brand safety is ensured during serving, members only see the most appropriate ads for them and the organization’s advertising policies and contracts are thoroughly enforced.

Our team is faced with the ambitions of building highly performant advertising systems and delivering high impact to our business by monetizing our incredible slate of content. As one of the newest entrants in the Connected TV advertising space that’s rapidly growing, we seek to build unique value propositions that help us differentiate from the competition and become a market leader in record time.

The Ads Product Operations team sits inside the organization’s Advertising team and owns the operating layer for Product, often bridging the boundary to Engineering and Design teams. Our team focuses on: How work gets prioritized, how decisions get made and tracked, and how teams stay aligned as the ads business scales. The team designs and maintains the frameworks, tooling, and artifacts that keep that organization running, and is now extending that mandate to agentic AI as core operational infrastructure.

The Ads Product Operations team is searching for a technical, operational expert who is highly organized and execution-driven in the product management space. You bring deep curiosity and hands-on proficiency with agentic tools, and a strong sense of ownership for driving successful operational practices.

Apply / share your resume

Responsibilities

  • Enable the agentic transformation of the product development lifecycle as part of the Product Operations team.
  • Modernize the core components of the lifecycle (discovery, planning, ideation, validation, and engineering collaboration) through agentic leverage.
  • Author, ship, and maintain the plugins, skills, and integrations that product teams use every day.
  • Land AI proficiency across the product organization through onboarding, hands-on labs, office hours, reusable enablement content, and a network of power users and champions.
  • Evaluate agentic plugin and skill efficacy on an ongoing basis, monitor for drift as the underlying models evolve, and consolidate, refresh, or retire tooling accordingly.
  • Steward the operating frameworks the organization runs on, keeping standards clear, reporting trustworthy, and work transparent across Product and Engineering.
  • Partner with Product Management, TPM, Engineering, Data Science, Design, and XD to embed agentic practice into everyday product work.

Qualifications / What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in Product Operations, Product/Program Management, Software Engineering, Engineering Operations, or a closely related discipline, with a track record of operational change programs that measurably shifted how teams work.
  • Deep understanding of how product managers and engineering teams collaborate, where the lifecycle breaks down, and what good looks like in an Enterprise B2B product environment.
  • Working proficiency with GitHub and Git workflows (branches, pull requests, code review, versioned collaboration), with enough technical fluency to read code, follow an architecture conversation, and reason about APIs and data.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with modern agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or comparable) and mult-agent workflows as core daily infrastructure rather than a novelty. You use these tools to do your own work solving real problems and build scalable systems, not just to evaluate them.
  • Deep curiosity about the fast-moving AI landscape with a focus on productivity and solving business problems: you track developments from AI labs, practitioners, and experts, and bring ideas back to the team to fold into how we operate.
  • Hands-on experience authoring agentic capability beyond prompting: skills, plugins, agents, or equivalent.
  • Working fluency in the systems and data infrastructure involved in how AI agents consume and act on content (embeddings, RAG, retrieval quality, context windows, prompt design), enough to collaborate with engineering partners.
  • Experience defining and applying evals and quality benchmarks for agentic capabilities and iterating based on measured outcomes.
  • Proven ability to drive organizational change through hands-on enablement, advocacy, and the instrumentation to prove it landed: defining metrics, standing up reporting, and distinguishing activity from outcome.
  • Strong judgment about where automation and process belongs, applying process to the outcomes that benefit from it rather than defaulting to it, with the credibility to hold that line with stakeholders.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and influence across Product, Engineering, and executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to operate as an individual contributor, driving outcomes independently and influencing cross-functional teams (especially PM and Eng) without direct authority.
  • Experience in advertising technology or a comparable Enterprise B2B platform business is preferred.

Inclusion

Inclusion is a shared value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.
